Climate Change

Climate is constantly changing. Like all of life, it is dynamic and often unpredictable. The cold is getting colder. And the heat is getting hotter.

You may have noticed the humidity is dryer. This affects our physical bodies, particularly the skin. To lubricate the skin and relieve itching, there are numerous substances and compounds available.

One is the fluid from the leaf of the aloe vera plant. It is particularly useful for soothing skin that has been over exposed to heat. This juice can also be ingested.

Another substance is salve made from comfrey dissolved in olive oil or the like, thickened with beeswax. [Note: do not ingest comfrey]. A favorite brand is made by a friend Sarah Elisabeth.

Then there is Thayer's alcohol free Witch Hazel toner. Scented and unscented. Good from head to toes.

In the Edgar Cayce Readings [availablle at the A.R.E. in Virginia Beach], there is recorded a massage oil formula given hundreds of times which is very useful in maintaining the skin comfortably, as well as the systems and organs of the body. This formula includes peanut oil, olive oil and lanolin. When commercially produced, almond oil and/or vitamin E is usually included as a preservative. The number one manufcturer of this is Baar, www.baar.com, which produces the Body Beautiful Oil, in unscented and scented versions. It also produces a Natura brand rose scented. See bottom of pages for the other scents. These are also available from the ARE bookstore.

Also recommended is the all healing castor oil (Palma Christi) which can even [in the hexane free variety] be used around the eyes.
Caution about internal use or use around the mouth as it has an instant laxative effect for some.

Staying internally hydrated also improves the total condition and comfort of the body.
